Operated and managed by Physician Partners of America, WPSC specializes in outpatient surgery, where surgical procedures are performed and patients are allowed to go home the same day. Our facility boasts a much smaller footprint than that of a hospital campus thus evoking a more personalized and comfortable atmosphere for patients and their family members. Our Team

Gloria Gardener - Regional Administrator

Gloria Gardner supervises the daily operations of our surgery centers within the Tampa Bay market. She has been with Physician Partners of America since 2018 but worked with its founding team since 2000.

Born in Massena, NY and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she is a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Recinto Universitario De Mayaguez in Puerto Rico.

Dr. John Scott Adams

Dr. John Scott Adams is an interventional pain management specialist with a background in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He specializes in treating all pain conditions with non-opioid modalities including neuromodulation, peripheral nerve blocks and spinal injections, among others.

A native of California, Dr. Adams earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of California Los Angeles and his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George, Grenada. Following an internship in General Surgery at Louisiana State University, he completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation followed by a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Widely published in scientific journals, he is a member of numerous professional societies, including the International Spine Association Society, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicines, the European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and American Pain Society.

Dr. Robert Guirguis

Dr. Robert Guirguis is double board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He employs many minimally invasive procedures to treat pain and restore function.

His interests include chronic pain, sports medicine, fibromyalgia, spasticity, arthritic disorders, electrodiagnostics and discogenic diagnostic procedures. He has additional training in performing kyphoplasty.

Dr. Guirguis graduated from Rutgers University and earned his doctorate from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Long Island. He completed an internal medicine rotating internship at Union Hospital in New Jersey and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at UMDNJ through Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in Edison, N.J.

He completed an interventional spine pain medicine fellowship at Florida Spine Institute. While there, he authored the interventional cervical chapter of a pain medicine textbook.

Recognized as a “Top Pain Management Physician” in the Tampa Bay area by U.S. News & World Report, he is a member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. Thanh Le

Dr. Thanh Le is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with added qualifications in Pain Management. He has been a pain management physician since 2000 and specializes in providing tailored treatment for chronic pain patients.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, and his MD at Louisiana State University Medical Center. He completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, followed by a Pain Medicine fellowship with an emphasis on spine medicine.

Dr. Le is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Pinellas County Medical Society.

Dr. John Kevyn Otero

Dr. Otero is board-certified in Pain Medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. His practice focuses on minimally invasive procedures, physical therapy and medication management. He believes in a comprehensive therapeutic approach.

A California native, Dr. Otero earned his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco and his doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his medical studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa: his internship, residency, Pain Medicine fellowship through the Department of Neurology, and Interventional Pain Medicine fellowship through the Department of Anesthesia.

Dr. Thomas Reilly

Dr. Thomas Reilly is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine. An interventional pain management specialist, he has helped thousands of patients find neck and back pain relief through neuromodulation, ultrasound-guided injections and more.

Dr. Reilly earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua, followed by a preliminary surgical year at Grady Memorial Hospital through Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed a Nuclear Medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and an Interventional Radiology fellowship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York.

He did his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center and a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine at Florida Spine Institute.

A contributor to numerous medical publications and peer presentations, Dr. Reilly is a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society, Spine Intervention Society, Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
